THE PARISH CHURCH OF ST JOHN the BAPTIST, OUR LADY & ST LAURENCE The tune is "Thaxted" from Gustav Holst's Planet Suite: Jupiter. Holst was organist at Thaxted Church The villages church is beautiful and extremely old and Gustav Holst was Church Organist.   [IoE 122250] The almhouses in back of it very so charming and pretty and are now private homes no longer owned by the church Rose Cottage which I looked at in 2002 as a possible purchase [IoE 122401] Thaxted Almshouses   [IoE 122297] 24 Watling Street is ancient 15th Century [IoE 122452]. There are extra pieces of timber supporting the walls.
