Trinity College, Cambridge -- Stained Glass in the Chapel Windows      North 2

I couldn't find many pictures of Henry Holiday's Stained Glass windows in Trinity College, Cambridge so I decided to create my own pages. The windows are numbered 1 to 8 from the Ante Chapel to the Altar. I have tried to identify the person depicted in each window and provide links with information about that person. If you have any corrections, comments or advice please contact me at john-saville@ntlworld.com.

One of the leaders in the South German Reformation movement. Regius Professor of Divinity First Master (1546-1551). Also was the last Warden (Master) of King's Hall.

Conservative cleric

Bishop Cuthbert Tunstall Bishop John Fisher John de Baggeshote Walter de Buxton
Bishop of London & Durham English Catholic bishop, cardinal and martyr. Opposed Henry VIII divorce. He was the first Warden of Edward II's King's Scholars Master of Michaelhouse 1324-28

Memo: Before Trinity there were earlier colleges on this site. Edward II funded some "King's Scholars" in 1317, and Edward III established a college called King's Hall on what is now the north side of Trinity in 1337. Meanwhile Hervey de Stanton, Chancellor to Edward II, had established a college called Michaelhouse on what is now the south side of Trinity. When Henry VIII founded Trinity he absorbed King's Hall and Michaelhouse, and some smaller nearby hostels, into his new foundation.
