Across the
River Brathay on its way from Little Langdale Tarn to
Elterwater
Lilliput
Lane's "Slater Bridge" is based on Slater
Bridge which crosses the River Brathay, 3 miles south of Keswick
The two part Slater Bridge takes advantage of
a central large rock and a very long slate slab to cross the
River Brathay on its way from Little Langdale Tarn to
Elterwater

How to get
there. The route I chose was to set the Satnav to High Park Cottages
(off A593). You can continue beyond there down a very narrow track to a
small footbridge (right). There is parking for 2 or 3 cars. You then
continue on foot westward to Slater Bridge.
One advantage
of this route is that, with a minor detour from the footpath, you can
visit "Cathdral
Cavern" which is made from old slate quarries
