The "Sherlock
Holmes"
is so named because Arthur
Conan Doyle wrote some of the stories in the Northumberland Arms Hotel
It was in the
Good Pub Guide Lucky Dip section
until
2007
but seems to have dropped out after that.
The Sherlock Holmes is just off Northumberland Avenue which is
Magenta on
the
London Monopoly Board
Lilliput Lane's
"Sherlock Holmes" is based on the Sherlock Holmes Pub in Northumberland
Place, London
Upstairs in the restaurant is a replica of Sherlock Holmes office. It
was built for the 1951 Festival of Britain
We visited on December 9, 2005 .....
...and returned with Charlie & Katie on January 18,
