Plessey Factory

Plessey of Ilford was a major manufacturer of equipment during WWII. As such it was an important target for Luftwaffe bombers (see maps below). To protect production and its workers, in November 1940, Plessey put its factory underground.

I have been able to scan a number of official photographs which were to be lost with the closing of a facility

It is difficult to know whether there is any copyright on these photos. If anyone believes they own the copyright please contact me

Similarly if anyone worked at the facility and has memories to share I would be very pleased  to hear from them.
