The trackbed towqrds the portal of the Oakamoor Tunnel (closed 1964)
Above the trackbed towards the station crossing over a bridge over the river.

The station in the 1950s.
"Topiary Train" can be seen just to the right of the tunnel.

Originally opened to traffic on 13 July 1849, Oakamoor station was on the North Staffordshire Railway's 'Churnet Valley' line which ran between North Rode and Uttoxeter. Oakamoor staion stands between Kingsley & Froghall station (on the present-day Churnet Valley Railway heritage line) and Alton Towers station. It was closed in the 1960s and all that's left today is part of a plaform.
