It appears many times in Monarch of the Glen.
It is next to the A86 road and, if you are travelling from Laggan, it
can be seen on the left of the road a mile or so before you reach Loch
Laggan. If you want a really close look at the gatehouse it is available
for
self catering holiday rental.

of the Earls of Kellie, from the nearby fourteenth-century
Kellie Castle, Kellie Lodging has royal connections.
Tradition has it that in 1651 King Charles II passed through
Pittenween on his way to Anstruther and was served a great
feast right outside this very establishment - which is why
it has also been known as 'King's Halt' by the locals. |
