  • Lilliput Lane's "Windy Mill" is based on this old mill. It was demolished in 1890.

  • The first recorded windmill in Cambridgeshire was at Trumpington and is mentioned in a document dated 1260

  • Mills Archive indicates the original mill was at the junction of High Street, Trumpington Road and Long Road. Nothing exists there but a field.

  • It could be that the map is only general. I plan to go to Cambridge Library to look for any old maps/archive materials

Whilst it is very unlikely to be the cottage by the mill,  52 High Street, further south, is of a similar design. [IoE 47476]
