The deed card supplied with the model states location as: Enthorpe. It is noted that this is accommodation not a restaurant (as implied on the model). Gordon Williamson suggests: "I think you will find The Sidings is in fact based on The Sidings Hotel & Restaurant, Station Lane, Shipton By Beningbrough, York YO30 1BT which is obviously a restaurant like the model and has the signals on the model at the entrance to the car park in reality" In practise it may be inspired by parts of both.
