We thought this was the real thing!

But in fact it's also based on this cottage on the other side of the road .............As it happens the garage was once owned by a John Shutler who was an in-law of one of John's "oldest" friends. Petrol pumps were installed in1925.

Jan Tarrant writes: "The cottage across the road, the one you took the photo of, used to be the original garage and to the right of the gates of the same cottage is the small shed building, as seen on the model, now almost completely hidden in the trees. 

Some local inhabitants invade the village!
