The White Hart Hotel is now
The Great
House at Sonning Hotel.
When I was a student at
Reading University I often wondered what it was like to stay in such a
place. For my 64th birthday I found out.
In 1966 I saw the film "Alfie"
starring Michael Caine and
was sure
that one of the sequences was filmed in Sonning at The White Hart hotel.
In 2011, Forty-five years later,
I
have taken photos and compared them with "stills" to show this was the case
(see attached) and submitted them to the
"Reel
Streets"
