Designed in Victorian times to power the 40 odd light bulbs that the castle had until it was taken over by the national grid in the 1940's

July 2001 and Charlie & Abby's first evening in the UK was spent -- in the wet -- at a rock concert in the grounds of Warwick Castle with Status Quo supported by the Beach Boys
