Waltham Abbey.jpg (7311 bytes) On May 4 we visited Waltham Abbey where King Harold (of "arrow in the eye" at the Battle of Hastings fame) is buried.
Meridian Line.jpg (13174 bytes) We also stood astride the Meridian line (0 Longtitude)

We had lunch at the Volunteer. It has turned out to be one of  my favorite pubs. The have a nice "English" menu and also a "Chinese" menu which is rather extensive. The pub landlord is married to a gorgeous Oriental woman who can really cook!. Every year for three months there is no Oriental food because the Mrs goes back home to visit her family.
