Stourbridge Fair was once one of the biggest in Europe and had been going over 700 years. It's recently been restarted on a much smaller scale.

It is said to be the inspiration for "Vanity Fair" in John Bunyan's Pilgrims Progress

The opening by the Mayor of Cambridge on Heritage Day 2006 (Sept 9). In 2004 it was more spectacular with the Town Cryer etc in robes
Only a few stalls compared with hundreds in Medieval times Judy bought a glass ornament
Diplays included Bees... ....hops...... ..and a variety of goods including food from these "peddlars"
Several people dressed in period costume for the occasion
