Lilliput Lane's "Micklegate Antiques" is a relatively early model, introduced in February 1991 (retired Sept 1997) It was based on the many jewellery, antique and curio shops in York. This page suggests some of the buildings which inspired the model

Jan Tarrant suggests it is styled on : CHURCH COTTAGES, 31 NORTH STREET west side (just off Micklegate) IoE 464272 BLB At first sight this may not seem to be the building but the Frith photo of Hemmen's Shop taken in 1909 shows some similarities though not bowed windows.

					Jan Tarrant suggests: The "BOW WINDOW" and "DORMER" feature - MAY HAVE BEEN inspired/incorporated on the Main Styling based on FROM THIS COTTAGE (Not a shop) :- 83 Micklegate IoE 464025 BLB (This also has an arched door as shown on the model.) This is also next door to the shop currently called Micklegate Antiques (below)

One feature found elsewhere is this archway, just off Micklegate next to: Jacob's Well 5 Trinity Lane [IoE 464958]
