Leigh-on-Sea

Up

Leigh-on-Sea is in Essex near Southend. It may have been where "The Mayflower" was built. It was certainly fitted out there.

Leigh is famous for its cockles... buy them at Osborne's on the left, get your drink from the Crooked Billet (C16) [IoE 122937] {which is in the 2008 Good Pub Guide [Lucky Dip]} and eat al fresco ("in the rough")  There are several old weatherboard buildings. .
