Travelling Post Office

Up

The Colne Valley Railway has and example of a Travelling Post Office .                         Preservation of TPOs
The service stopped Jan 9, 2004. My friend Mick Linsell was Royal Mail Ops Director at the time.
The service is made famous by W H Auden's  poem "The Night Mail"    Words
The Colne Valley Railway TPO is normally next to the Garden Railway Modelled by Triang/Hornby 00 -- I had one in the 1950's (below)
There are actually a couple and the main one was moved to the platform during Santa Special 2009
