There are several monuments, column etc around the grounds
The site was requisitioned in 1941 by the government and used to train Polish Officers for top-secret wartime missions. Some of these officers were later killed in action and an urn in the grounds commemorates their sacrifice of Polish members of the Special Operations Executive .
